Comments: Thanks to both of you for contributing to discovering this issue. Would it be possible to get an idea of the steps you took to encounter it? The ability to skip certain types of database objects is a bit of a mess right now as the dependencies are often taken for granted elsewhere even though they are supposed to have been skipped.

Got the below error. We have some Stored procedures encrypted - this could be the reason.

Is it possible to have an option to ignore encrypted objects and proceed?

Comments: Sorry for the delay on this reply; I appreciate you taking the time to create a CodePlex account to submit this issue! Step one in attempting to resolve this will be looking into an updated version of the control being used for SQL syntax highlighting. After that I will look into allowing it to be disabled... the whole native code thing already causes hassles for people building from the source. The only recommendation I have for now is that you try the command line version which should not be using Scintilla.

Comments: Thanks for checking things out, and also taking the time to setup an account here at CodePlex. Did you adjust any of the settings to skip processing of any of the types of database objects? That functionality isn't really implemented robustly and tends to lead to null reference exceptions like this. Looking at the code it may be related to an unusual or unsupported type of index, but that's even more speculative than my last suggestion! Thanks again for recording this issue.

When I select a table from the tree view from the schema tab, the constraints of that table appear in the 'New object' tab but don't appear in the 'Old object' tab. I expected the constraints to appear in both tabs.

This issue is visible even if we compare the same database o nthe left and on the right.

When I view a table, the Constraints appear in the 'New Object', but are missing from the 'Old Object' (This happens even if the Source and Destination are the same database). The actual comparision routine appears to be correct as the 'Synchronized Script' is empty.

From stepping through the source code, it would appear that it is calling the Database.Clone method ( origenClone = (Database)origen.Clone(null);) which does not clone the Constraints.

Also, whilst debugging this I got into a sceneraio where it repeatedly called the comparsion routines. It was calling the ProgressForm_Activated event, so I think the last line in the following section of code set IsProcessing true rather than false.

Comments: As of 0.9 beta, I still have this issue. When comparing the same database on the left and on the right, I see a difference when comparing a table that has constraints (like prymary keys and/or foreign keys). Why was this ticket closed?

Guys, this code is quite all-over-the-place, and I can't even get into PrincipalForm designer in VS2010 because something about the way the code is written crashes the compiler giving just a form error screen

If you could fix up all the warnings as well as the errors, it'd be great..
Comments: The designer for the PrincipalForm requires [Ascend](http://ascendnet.codeplex.com/releases/view/317) be setup correctly (GAC'd). See [this discussion](http://opendbiff.codeplex.com/discussions/239671) for additional comments. Here is an attempt to clean things up by removing dependencies, etc. but I ran into licensing issues with the project in general (switching from GPLv2 to v3) and the control used to show differences (not GPL compatible): http://code.google.com/p/sql-dbdiff/ discussion: http://opendbiff.codeplex.com/discussions/83819 I will look into the 'out-of-box' experience with Visual Studio 2010.
